Share Somebody's Dream
Children are incredible. It's been amazing watching friends have babies and seeing these kids start to grasp language and social queues, develop personalities and tastes. They are sponges who soak up everything around them, and every parent or educator that helps them turn into good kids deserves a raise/vacation/whatever they want.
This month I asked my girlfriend of ten years (hi, wow, Kristin happy anniversary did you know it's been ten years?) to collab on a mixtape and she hit me with a really different and special idea: a mix for children but geared toward adults. Not every song in it is explicitly a kids' song, but all of them share the joy and exuberance that your inner child will love. Kristin will talk more about that below.
Like the mixtapes? Help me spread the love by throwing a few bucks my way via BuyMeACoffee. Thanks to everyone who has already supported me there. I plan on updating that page a little more regularly with news and bigger project updates, so tune in, and watch as I spend more money on this silly creative project I love so much.
And hey, if you like it, why not share the mix or this newsletter with a friend?

A few words from Kristin:
*****
Well well well, my time has finally come.
For those wondering, Brady does not practice nepotism. I had to wait over a year to finally get a chance to collaborate, but I think it was worth the wait. I had floated a lot of different ideas to Brady during my time "on line," but the mixtape that you are about to listen to is the one that stuck.
In July 2022 I became an aunt for the first time and then was equally as lucky when I became one again in May of this year! I’ve always given off cool Aunt vibes, but now it's official. I’ve been blessed in the past few years with all my friends and family who have had kids. If anything, I’m lucky because I keep getting new friends who think I’m so funny and cool!
I wanted to make a mixtape for all the kiddies, but I especially wanted to create one for my niece MoMo (if you know, you know), as she is turning one in a few weeks. She’ll always have a special place in my heart, because she made me an aunt.
Kids' music gets a bad reputation, and mostly for good reason (looking at you “Baby Shark"). I’m here to say that a lot of it is actually very good. You just have to sift through the muck to get to it. As many folks know, new parents & parents of toddlers (heck, parents in general) don’t have the time to sift! They are too busy washing cottage cheese out of a baby’s hair.
As an adult (age-redacted) woman, I still find deep comfort in songs that I cherished as a kid. During the height of the pandemic, Brady and I did a lot to seek comfort in any way we could. I played him a scene from the Oscar Award* winning film Follow That Bird, in which Big Bird sings “Easy Going Day,” and I told him how much the song meant to me. After all these years, it still relaxes me.
I hope his mixtapes brings you comfort, and I hope you can enjoy it with kids of every age!

Love you all. Hope you enjoy!
Join Me: Superviolet & Trace Mountains @ The Sultan Room, Thur 8/15 @ 7 PM
A couple good reasons for me to hit up this show:
Superviolet is the new project of Steve Ciolek, of Sidekicks and Saintseneca fame, two bands I love dearly and have seen and loved live a number of times.
Trace Mountains is the great solo project of Dave Benton, formerly of great band LVL UP.
I have wanted to check out The Sultan Room for a hot minute!
The last time I saw Sidekicks was so powerfully fun, and I'm sure this show will be just as great.
RIYL: pop, punk rock goes soft rock, Sidekicks, LVL UP
Check out Superviolet's "Overeater."
